Penylan Preserves

Clare Williams grew up on a farm in mid-Wales, where she used to help her mum and her nan preserving fruits and vegetables that were grown in the garden. Clare loved being involved in cooking with her family on the farm, and making jams and preserves became a lifelong hobby.

Carrying on the tradition into adulthood, Clare started making jams and chutneys from the fruit and vegetables from her Cardiff allotment. When her cupboards started spilling over with jars, she would take them to charity events, raffles and more. Upon tasting her delicious creations, people would regularly tell her to start a business… so that’s exactly what she did!

Begining 10 years ago in her kitchen in Penylan, the business had many homes as it grew in size. Clare now operates from a purpose-built production kitchen in Tremorfa. She still loves what she does, and enjoys nothing more than experimenting with new flavours and making new products.
